This IDC study is designed for IT leaders responsible for organizations with a multigenerational workforce or leaders who are providing technology support and/or services to a multigenerational user base. This study presents five innovative practices that can help organizations enhance their productivity, effectiveness, and value to the business community they serve, simply through the proper utilization, deployment, and interactivity of their multigenerational workforce. While the best practices being presented here may seem unrelated at first glance, these practices are all united by the single overarching philosophy that combining the technical strengths of diverse generations creates a result greater than any single generation could create on its own. This phenomenon allows IT to develop more usable software, create more robust processes, launch cloud- and homegrown-based systems more effectively, and retain the knowledge of workers of all generations.
